The comfortable and partly furnished with old furniture apartment (40 sqm) has a private entrance and is ideal for two people. If necessary, the sofa (1.60 m x 1.90 m) can be pulled out in the living area and then offers an additional sleeping accommodation. Vis a vis the fully equipped kitchen, there is a dining area for four people. In the hall, fitted wardrobes and a large wooden chest of drawers provide ample storage space. The modern bathroom has a shower. Probably unique and a special charm of this apartment is the cozy Schlafbutze for two adults. The old tiled stove has only a decorative function and can not be used. A beautiful garden is available by arrangement. You can have breakfast in front of your apartment overlooking the old church and the sheep on the dike or drink a glass of wine at the idyllic garden pond on an old bench in the evening sun or, if the sun is shining, make yourself comfortable on a deck chair. The apartment, actually the house, is one half of a 2003 elaborately and lovingly renovated old, two-horse fisherman's chate from 1885. It is located directly behind the dike in Pogum, two to three hours by car from the Ruhr or Münsterland. Pogum is an old warping village in the East Frisian Rheiderland on the Ems - opposite the seaport city of Emden. Pogum is popularly called the Endje van de Wereld, because the road used to end here, and you stand in front of the Dollart, the mouth of the Ems, and it still stands today. The pretty fishing village Ditzum with a number of nice restaurants and a supermarket along the dike along about 1.5 kilometers. From the only still functioning Sielhafen in Ostfriesland there is a ferry to Petkum (suburb of Emden). During the season it is possible to take the ferry from Ditzum to Borkum or Delfzijl. The nearest major city is Leer with a worth seeing old town. Groningen, a worthwhile destination, is about 60 km (highway) away. Pogum is the ideal location for cycling or kayaking. Those who are brave can swim in the Ems, as the locals do. But there is also a nice, child-friendly bathing lake near Jemgum.
