The close proximity to the French border enables day trips to Alsace with its numerous sights and - last but not least - top gastronomy. In the village itself there are two restaurants with a tradition going back over a hundred years.

The Buntsandstein rock formations are home to numerous typical plants and animals. Peregrine falcon and common raven can be observed all year round. The wildcat has its largest occurrence in Central Europe. Lynxes from the neighboring Vosges regularly roam the vast forests without a hiker ever seeing them. The Rhineland-Palatinate Nature and Environment Foundation has therefore started a long-prepared LIFE project "Resettlement of lynxes in the Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve".
