Our romantic country house with its 4 spacious rooms and the new bathroom is located directly below the castle Pappenheim. We have a beautiful view of the city of Pappenheim and the Altmühltal, whose wealth of nature and leisure activities will make your holiday unforgettable. We are looking forward to your visit.
The living room
Our romantic country house is located directly below the castle Pappenheim, with a beautiful view over the city and the Altmühltal. The house is ideal to use the many and varied leisure activities of the Altmühltal.
The house was extensively renovated from 2016 to 2018 without losing its original character.
The kitchen has a small but fully equipped kitchen and a wood-fired kitchen stove. The cozy corner seat offers space for the entire family and is ideal for eating, playing and crafting. On the couch next door you can read and relax wonderfully.
From the kitchen you have access to the completely redesigned bathroom with rain shower.
The downstairs bedroom has a 1.80m wide ironbed and woodburning stove.
Upstairs there are two living / bedrooms: The "nursery" with high ceiling, two single beds and sofa bed and the "castle room" with a beautiful view of the castle and a large single bed. Both rooms have a desk and other high quality amenities. The castle room also has its own wood-burning stove.
The timeless built-in furniture throughout the house is massive and was fitted by the previous owner, a regionally known master carpenter, in the 50s / 60s. During the renovation of the house, we have taken great care that these built-in furniture remain intact.
The well-filled library in the Treppenheus is at your disposal for your holiday reading. You will also find in the house a large selection of social and card games, with which you can make good use of the time together with your family.
Access for guests
We, the house owners, live in Munich and use the house in Pappenheim as a weekend house and retreat. Guests are always welcome and can use the house in full.
Other important information
The house is in good condition, but it is old. In its origins it reaches into the end of the 18th / beginning of the 19th. Century back. Some soil, some wall is crooked and in the floorboards, which we have uncovered during the renovation, was already so many woodworm guests.
Nevertheless, we personally like the character of the house as it is very good. We hope that you too will appeal to this authenticity.
We went to a great deal of trouble renovating the house and invested a lot to make it as it is now. We appreciate it if you appreciate this and treat the house accordingly. The house will surely repay you with a nice stay and lasting memories.
We are also happy about families with small children, but we would like to point out that the equipment (wood stoves, open staircase, garden wall, etc.) requires the appropriate attention of the supervisors and we can not assume any liability for unseen supervision.
Please also note that we have a pet (cat) that lives temporarily in the house. Maybe that's why the house is not suitable for allergy sufferers.
