Waldenburg dates back to the early 15th century and is crowned by castle ruins on a hill offering sweeping views of the Jura Mountains. Ideal for hikers, nature lovers, photographers, and artists. In the summer of 2026, the town will become the “Ville des Arts” with around 40 sculptures, transforming every walk into an open-air gallery.

There is an old pub with character and 2 other restaurants, a church, a walk-in self-service tourist information center, a cultural space for art and exhibitions, and a café selling local products, which is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays – all just a few minutes' walk from the house. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and all day on Sundays and public holidays.
