Our house is situated on a quiet hillside high above the Elbe with a beautiful view of the Elbe valley and the Ore Mountains. We rent out the top floor all year round as a holiday flat for visitors to Dresden and anyone else who just wants to relax. The flat has two rooms - a bedroom with a double bed and a cosy living room with a pull-out couch, TV, DVD player, books, magazines, maps and information material as well as games for rainy days. The fully equipped kitchen (fridge, cooker, sink, microwave, coffee machine, kettle) with sitting area offers the opportunity to cook for yourself if you don't want to eat out. Directly off the kitchen is a balcony where you can enjoy the wonderful countryside and sunshine in summer. The rural location close to the city offers ideal conditions for relaxation and culture. While the gentle hills and typical local orchards invite you to take long walks, the state capital with its diverse cultural offerings beckons. A 20-minute walk through a romantic forest gorge takes you directly to Pillnitz Palace and Park, which attracts visitors and locals alike with its festivals and concerts, especially in summer. In addition to Dresden, the surrounding sights are also worth a visit, e.g. Meißen, Stolpen, Moritzburg and Königstein Fortress. If you like hiking, you will find a variety of hiking routes in the Pillnitz vineyards, Saxon Switzerland, the Ore Mountains and Upper Lusatia.
