Unique, historic thatched roof kate with sea views in an absolutely secluded location in the Geltinger Birk nature conservation area
Slightly elevated above the sea behind two skewed trees, surrounded by the pastures of wild horses and highland cattle, the Fischerkate lies completely alone in the middle of the original nature of the Geltinger Birk nature reserve with a view of the Geltinger Bay. This thatched roof kate was previously inhabited by fishermen. Before the Beveroer Noer was dammed in 1820, the milk of the cattle grazing the birch was transferred to Nordschau. Later the well-known Lutheran theologian and politician Martin Pörksen found a home here with his wife and their 13 children. The Fischerkate has been a holiday home for many years. As part of the renovations, the historical character that gives the house its unique charm has been preserved. Preserved original elements of the stable and partly historical doors testify to the history of this Kate.
From here, the nearby beaches in Falshöft, Wackerballig or Pottloch are quickly reached. Lovely excursion destinations are the enchanting harbor town of Kappeln, the fishing village of Maasholm, the pretty Schleidörfer and the city of Flensburg.
