The House:
You have approximately 183 square meters of living space on three levels, a terrace and 4 parking spaces for your vehicles.
From the entrance area you reach the basement: Here we have a so-called "second living room" with a television + DVD player with approx. 30 films for young and old, a comfortable sofa and a balcony. Two bedrooms with a double bed each. A bathroom with shower and a separate toilet and a hallway with stairs to the upper floors.
The 1. Floor is the main part of our house, so to speak. We had two walls removed here. As a result, the rooms are open to one another and thus also offer larger groups the opportunity to enjoy a nice get-together.
The kitchen and the dining room: Both are open to each other. Here you can cook, bake, especially eat together, study hiking maps, play board games and do everything else that you do at a large table. The table comfortably seats 12 people. If you are one more person then it gets a little bit narrower.
Since our house is on a slope, you can access the terrace directly from the kitchen. If any of you would like to smoke one or the other cigarette, you will appreciate this area, because smoking is of course not permitted in the house.
From the dining room you enter the large living room. Both rooms share a large balcony that faces the valley.
In the living room, you can comfortably linger with several people on the sofa landscape and end the day.
We also have a shelf with books for you. From "love" to "murder and manslaughter" everything is included :-) If you particularly like a book, you are welcome to take it with you in exchange for another one of yours. We also have many books in English.
The hallway: No matter from which room, you always get into the large hallway with the stairs up and down. On this floor there is also a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet.
The attic: There are four further bedrooms and a large bathroom with a bathtub and a toilet.
All bedrooms above and below have a double bed with two single mattresses. One bedroom upstairs has another single bed for an additional third person.
There are a total of 6 bedrooms in the house.

Altenau is very centrally located in the Harz Mountains and is therefore an ideal starting point for many activities. Altenau itself has 7 restaurants, a bakery, a supermarket, a pharmacy, its own brewery, a snack bar, a bank and a post office. The supermarket and the bakery are open every day.
You can get all the info material and personal advice on the subject of "Excursions in the Harz at the tourist information Oberharz, which is fortunately located in Altenau and not far from our house. About 2 minutes walk.
Interaction with guests
The house is not suitable for parties. We have neighbors. After 9:00 p.m., we ask out of respect for our neighbors to limit the volume on the terrace to a reasonable level.
Since we are not on site, you will be greeted by our dear check-in lady. You will be received directly at the house. If you do not want to bring your own bed linen, you can borrow bed linen and towels after ordering in advance. A laundry set includes a bed sheet, pillow and blanket covers and two towels. The price for one person is 10 euros. There are of course enough blankets and pillows in the house.
You are welcome to use our free WiFi for the internet connection.
Other important information
-The house is not suitable for parties. , After 9:00 p.m., we kindly ask our neighbors to reduce the volume to a reasonable level.
-Our outdoor furniture, the parasol and the grill are available from April to mid-October.

- Please leave our house clean and tidy, as it was found. Our nice domestic help takes care of cleaning the toilets, vacuuming and wiping the floors. Their share for this is 55.00 euros. - Please note that per day and person (over 18 years) € 2.00 tourist tax has to be paid to the spa administration (children over 6 years) € 1.30 paid. You will receive the spa cards with various discounts. You can get various information material for the Harz Mountains from the tourist information center about 2 minutes' walk from the house. - Since we are not on site, it is not possible for us to provide you with bed linen and towels. Please bring your own laundry and towels with you. You also have the option of renting bed linen and towels from our property manager. The price per person and set is 10, -Euro.-.

If you come to visit us in the summer, then be sure to check out Europe's largest herb park with spice gallery, also within walking distance. The Harzer Hexen-Stieg also begins in Altenau. The route between Altenau and Torfhaus is known as the most beautiful and for the most part leads along the narrow trenches of the UNESCO World Heritage "Upper Harz Water Management". A wonderful experience on hot summer days is swimming in the "forest swimming pond" and warmly recommended. Of course it's free for everyone and yes! only walking distance away. There are three tennis playgrounds right next to the forest swimming pond. They are booked in the "Hirsch" pharmacy in the village (10 minutes walk from the house) 1 hour costs 10, - €. Should it pour a day like from buckets (and not only then), the crystal hot spring "Hot Brocken" with its great swimming pools and saunas is a nice alternative to enjoy your stay, and that is within walking distance. In winter, the rain quickly turns into snow, at 500 meters it happens even more often. Altenau has its own ski and sledge mountain "Auf der Rose" Ski - and sledge lift are available. Great fun for young and old is therefore guaranteed. So pack up the mulled wine, grab the sledge (we have two ready for you) and go sledding, of course on foot .-)
