Positive: The hotel cleaning stuff is doing an excelent job!

Negative: I came to Dresden specifically to pick up my work laptop and to work some days from the hotel. Unfortunately, there was no Wi-Fi at all during my stay. There is no reception desk and no staff on site ín the afternoon. When I called the number provided, the person who answered did not even introduce himself and simply said that a technician could only check the issue the next day. In other words: even if you desperately need the advertised amd promised hotel services, nothing can be done before the following day. When I asked to be called back once the internet wifi was restored, I was told this was not possible “because of GDPR” – which makes no sense, as I explicitly requested a callback on the same number they could already see when I called them. The next day I received a message via Booking.com saying that Wi-Fi was “now available,” but that they could not guarantee its stability. In reality, there was still no internet connection – not even for a minute. Another inconsistency: when I made the booking, I received a message offering breakfast for an extra fee. However, inside the hotel there is a notice stating that no breakfast is provided between January 12 and 19, 2026 due to holidays. The heating is also insufficient. The room feels cold, especially at floor level – if you’re not wearing shoes, your legs will be chilly. The in-room information sheet states: “For safety reasons, the use of additional heating devices (such as electric heaters) that have not been provided by the hotel is not permitted.” This suggests that the hotel has its own additional heaters for such cases. However, when I asked about this via Booking.com, I was told they do not have any, and that even if they ordered one, it would only arrive the next day. The hotel did offer me a cancellation with full refund. However, check-out is at 10:00 and the new hotel I found only allowed check-in from 14:00. I cannot work on the street with my laptop for four hours in winter, so I stayed.
