Positive: Very nice house, very clean and plenty of space for 3 adults. The hosts were SO nice- before my arrival I requested if the hosts had a few birthday candles (my birthday was during my stay) they could provide or maybe they could tell me where to go nearby to buy some. Upon my arrival, they had a small pack of candles waiting for us!! The house seemed quite new or perhaps recently renovated, the washer and dryer in the basement were clean and easy to use, and the covered outdoor patio/smoking area was absolutely lovely for breakfast. The hosts live next door and were easy to reach via the bell near the front door or by text, and they were responsive, always super nice, and accommodating whenever we ran into each other or I asked a question. They also have a very cute dog, who is well behaved and didn't bark at all (or didn't bark loud enough to hear). There was obviously no breakfast included as it is a vacation home but the hosts do provide coffee pods for morning coffee. The property itself is a tiny bit difficult to find the very first time, but the hosts provide all the information you need to find it properly as long as you can follow directions. There are also rules to follow about quiet hours during the night, not specific to here apparently but actually just Germany in general, but if you inform the hosts of any time you may not be able to abide by those times (like for my birthday we were up past midnight- well behaved but I'm sure we were still noisy) they will work with you! We loved staying here, surrounded by apple orchards and berry vines, the town is quaint and quiet and super picturesque. And the location is quite convenient- only a few minutes down the road from the Oberkircher Brennersteig AKA the schnapps hike (highly recommend but careful if you go on a Monday or Tuesday a lot of the places are closed!) and close by to the larger city of Offenburg.

Negative: We ran out of paper towels as we couldn't find more than the 1 provided kitchen towel, which we needed to use to clean up a spill. But with the laundry available downstairs it was hardly an issue.

Summary: Quaint location, lovely house, and nice hosts- a great place to stay if you are a decent guest
