Positive: See below for the why, but we got a full refund. The hosts accepted responsibility for their error and told booking.com to give us a full refund. But it did take three phone calls to booking.com to finally get the refund (not the hosts' fault).

Negative: We booked the apartment for 3 (listed as queen, twin, and sofa bed) and were given the apartment for 2 (listed as one bed). We checked in and upon entry, it was immediately obvious that this was not what we had booked and that it would not work for us, which meant we had to scramble to find a new place to stay that night. While we tried to contact the hosts, just a brief look around made it clear that the place hadn't been properly cleaned -- dirt smudges on furniture and kitchen countertop, a spill in the fridge, smudged fingerprints on the microwave, and an item from a previous guest. Hard to say whether this was a one time thing. We left before the hosts got back to us so we could start looking for another place to stay. They finally did call us back and said they can't see on booking.com which apartment has been booked, so they just gave us the one they had available. I don't know if I believe that because I've used booking.com a fair amount and never have had this issue with other stays. So if you plan on staying here, you might want to confirm ahead of time that you are getting the one booked.
