Your vacation home is a log cabin, which is located just outside the village on its own plot next to a campsite. Because of the wooden construction, it is a non-smoking accommodation. On the adjacent campsite there is a volleyball court, a playground and a snack bar.
From the house it is about 2 km to the Hohenwarte reservoir, also called the Thuringian Sea. The lake offers the possibility of swimming, boating and fishing. Annually, the so-called Blue Ribbon long-distance swim takes place here. It is 30 km to Saalfeld on the river Saale, in the south of Thuringia. You can also make an interesting day trip to the cultural city of Weimar, once the home of Goethe and Schiller. Besides the poets' residences and monument, Weimar has numerous castles and palaces.
